District Administrator Tom Burkhalter provided an update on the purchase of the former Fairhaven property from Vernon Memorial Healthcare, located at 601 Arena Drive.
Burkhalter said the district is excited to close the property on Dec. 23 and is “seriously starting the planning process” for the facility and the possibilities it holds.
“We (the school district) don’t buy a lot of properties and VMH doesn’t sell a lot of properties,” Burkhalter said. “This is the start of a journey.”
