ATLANTA (CBS46) – Two college students in the Atlanta metro face disciplinary action for their involvement in a sexual incident on school grounds.
Most parents, like Patrisha Mongeon, were disturbed to learn that the students had engaged in a sexual act and recorded it.
âIt’s really scary. My daughter is going here and she is the age when these things start to happen. I was hoping to wait a little longer before these types of explicit conversations took place in my house, âMongeon said.
A source told CBS46 that the two students committed a sexual act in a bathroom during school hours. The school district sent the following statement.
âAtlanta Public Schools recently became aware of a video showing two students from Howard Middle School engaging in consensual sex on school grounds. Students were disciplined in accordance with the district code of conduct.
âWell I think it’s irresponsible of the people who are supposed to supervise these kids and where their location is at all times,â said parent Dan Villouta.
The APS added, âIn addition, the students were warned that any sharing of the video would also result in severe disciplinary action. APS will continue to provide safe and secure learning and working environments for its students and staff.
âIt can derail their future, just by talking about it and just sharing it,â Mongeon said. âWe will definitely have a conversation later. It’s just the constant struggle we have with our children as parents to help them stay as innocent as possible.
An APS spokesperson said there was no indication that the video was shared. To share the video would be essentially to share child pornography.
