| Newhall School District promotes three administrative positions


Newhall School District has promoted three current staff to new administrative roles. Kate Peattie, Chad Rose and Tim Lankford will take on new roles in the district.

“At Newhall School District, we know that to be successful as a leader in education, we must develop and promote exceptional staff members who are committed to providing superior learning for our students,” said Jeff Pelzel, Superintendent of Newhall School District. “That’s why I’m delighted to announce the following new hires to our administrative staff.”

The district’s new assistant superintendent of educational services is Kate Peattie, who has worked in the district for 25 years. Throughout her career, she has held positions as a teacher, vice-principal, principal, professional development administrator, and most recently, director of teaching, assessment and accountability.

Peattie has taken an active role in leading the learning support and intervention teacher teams in the district while implementing a district-wide model over the past school year.

“I am delighted to continue the important work of Newhall School District, ensuring that every child receives a high quality education and setting them up for success in whatever they choose to do,” she said. declared.

Peattie has three sons who all attended schools in the Newhall district.

The new District Director of Instruction, Assessment and Accountability is Chad Rose. He steps down from his current role as Learning Recovery and Instructional Technology Support Administrator, which was new to the district this year, with his global role designed to help school sites close any gaps that may have formed during COVID-19 distance learning. and to support the integration of technology for teaching and engagement purposes. Previously, Rose served as Site Director at the district’s Stevenson Ranch and Meadows campuses.

“I am honored to have been selected to serve the pupils and staff of Newhall School District and look forward to being part of the continued growth of all pupils,” he said.

Rose is married and has two daughters who both attended Newhall District.

Tim Lankford will assume the role of Administrator of Learning Recovery Support and Instructional Technology alongside Rose’s transition. Lankford served in the Newhall District as Site Superintendent of Newhall, Wiley Canyon and Stevenson Ranch Schools.

With his wife, Lankford raises two children who also attended the Newhall district.

All 10 Newhall District campuses have been recognized as a California Distinguished School and winner of the 2022 California Pivotal Practice Award Program for demonstrating creativity and innovation in addressing the challenges of COVID-19 at during the 2020-21 school year.

Newhall School District is an elementary school district in the Santa Clarita Valley. Its 10 school campuses are Dr. J. Michael McGrath Elementary, Meadows Elementary, Newhall Elementary, Oak Hills Elementary, Old Orchard Elementary, Peachland Avenue Elementary, Pico Canyon Elementary, Stevenson Ranch Elementary, Valencia Valley Elementary, and Wiley Canyon Elementary.
