Salida Middle School welcomes new Principal Michelle Saab

The Salida School District is pleased to announce the next Principal of Salida Middle School, Mrs. Michelle Saab.

Ms. Saab brings with her over 15 years of diverse experience in education, staff and parent facilitation, school leadership, parent engagement and human resources work. She has taught abroad and spent the last few years in Denver Public Schools, most recently as Director of Growth and Performance and Cultural Learning and previously as Middle School Principal, Vice-Principal and teacher.

She is deeply committed to public education and promotes holistic child development through rigorous content, social-emotional learning, creativity and joy. Building new relationships with her students, staff, families and community will be her top priority this year.

Salida Middle School’s interview committee reviewed the submitted applications and formally interviewed three qualified candidates for the position. Ms. Saab was offered and accepted the position and the board approved the committee’s hiring recommendation at its July 12 meeting.

Ms. Saab is originally from Colorado and enjoys spending her time in Chaffee County. She loves hiking and playing in the river with her pup Rio, is a Monarch season pass holder, and looks forward to being part of the Salida community.
