FOLSOM, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–PowerSchool (NYSE: PWSC), the leading provider of cloud-based software for K-12 education in North America, today announced that the Marple Newtown School District (MNSD) in the county of Delaware, Pennsylvania is seeing positive results after switching its learning management system to PowerSchool Unified Classroom® Academic Learning from Google Classroom*. The district says the move to Schoology Learning has created a substantial shift in how teachers and students engage, whether at home or in the classroom. MNSD leveraged the power of Schoology Learning to help elementary learners with a more intuitive interface designed for younger learners, better ability to record and review standards-based fluency for more personalized instruction, and overall design which simplifies the management and maintenance of teaching materials.
“We have solicited feedback from our faculty and families on Schoology Learning and it has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Matt Oberecker, Instructional Technology Supervisor, Marple Newtown School District. “Schoology Learning has become like a common language in our district now based on what I see through analytics and in classrooms. It permeates everything. couldn’t have imagined before, and we’re excited to continue using this robust education technology platform.
MNSD educators have been able to successfully use Schoology Learning to facilitate distance, blended, and in-person learning, during the COVID-19 pandemic until today. The district found the chat feature, LTI (learning tools interoperability) integration, and simplified alignment of standards to learning tasks to be particularly helpful. Schoology Learning’s chat function and group functionality has enabled greater parent engagement. Additionally, teachers noted the substantial benefit of being able to maintain functionality with MNSD’s current Google content and tools, such as Google Drive, as a critical benefit of Schoology Learning.
Along with MNSD’s use of Schoology Learning, the district has also benefited from PowerSchool Unified Talent™ Applicant Tracking, Naviance by PowerSchooland its most recent addition of PowerSchool Unified Classroom® Performance Matters, which enabled the MNSD to effectively manage, evaluate and improve student performance. The district notes that Performance Matters is beginning to improve the district’s ability to create more standards-based testing protocols by analyzing school performance at the student, grade, school, and district level.
