High school students in the Edmonds School District are encouraged to apply to serve on the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee for the 2021-2022 school year.
The committee is made up of student leaders from grades 9 to 12 from each of the high schools in the district. As committee members, students will have the opportunity to work alongside Superintendent Gustavo Balderas and other district leaders. Students will also develop skills in leadership, policy development and collaboration alongside a diverse community of peers.
The committee meets with Balderas and district leaders once a month, and participates once a month in a professional development meeting focused on equity issues.
The district is looking for a diverse group of students, including those who identify as Black, Indigenous and Color (BIPOC), LGQBTIA +, English Learners, Undocumented, Homeless / homeless, with host families and disabled students.
