The WYO PLAY Middle School Drama Club will perform ‘Uncle Shelby’s Poem Play’ at the WYO Performing Arts & Education Center at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 11.
In collaboration with Sheridan County School District 1, WYO PLAY brings together students from Tongue River and Big Horn Middle Schools for a unique performance experience. Director Grace Cannon has been working for six weeks with students from both schools to guide them through a process of designing an original play based on poems by Shel Silverstein. The two groups met separately and will reunite on March 11 to put on a cohesive performance.
During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, WYO Theater General Manager Erin Butler spoke to listeners a bit about this upcoming collaborative performance.
According to Butler, “Uncle Shelby’s Poem Play” is witty, whimsical, creative and imaginative and will be performed by 20 middle school students at the WYO Theater. For tickets and more information, visit wyotheater.com.
