Week 3 was filled with excitement with several defensive highlights.
Here are the best performances of this week.
Kayson Dietz, South Salina
Dietz was all over the place for Salina South against the Campus Flexbone offensive. He led South with 13 tackles, two tackles for a loss, forced a fumble and suffered a sack in South’s 36-14 win over Campus on Friday night.
Seth Clemmer, South Salina
Clemmer was one of two running backs the Cougars will have to count on with Brandt Cox out due to injury. In Friday’s win at Campus, Clemmer ran for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Weston Fries, South Salina
Fries recorded 160 total attacking yards and two touchdowns, helping South to their first win of the season, 36-14, over Campus.
More than week 3:
Parker Kavanagh, Salina Central
Despite falling to Andover 28-19, Kavanagh racked up 299 total rushing yards and three touchdowns.
Kenyon McMillan, Salina Central
McMillan was the Mustangs’ main running back with Micah Moore out for Friday’s game against Andover. McMillan had two catches for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Hayden Vidricksen, Salina Central
Vidricksen recorded four catches for 109 yards and one touchdown.
Kayden Goddard, Ell-Saline
Goddard was in the right place at the right time in overtime for Ell-Saline’s game against Oakley. The Cardinals senior linebacker picked Oakley quarterback Will Schmidt and returned him for a touchdown to help Ell-Saline improve to 2-1 on the season and 2-0 in the district game.
Kade Wilson, Ell-Saline
Wilson recorded 226 total yards of attack and two touchdowns, helping Ell-Saline to a 2-1 record.
Luke Gebhardt, southeast of Saline
Gebhardt was efficient passing the ball against Ellsworth on Friday night. He was 8 of 9 for 189 yards and three touchdowns. He also carried the ball four times for 18 yards and a touchdown.
Chase Poague, southeast of Saline
Poague only had two catches against Ellsworth, but they were both for combined touchdowns for 104 yards. He also added a 97-yard fumble return for a score.
Matthew Rodriguez, southeast of Saline
Rodriguez added three rushing touchdowns and 60 yards on nine touchdowns, helping Southeast Saline to a 3-0 record heading into the District game.
